Korean dramas are all time favourite of many and with global streaming services and shows like ‘Squid Game’ they have now reached the audience worldwide. Taking on the opportunity Zee5 has today announced a new show called ‘Duranga’, an official adaptation of Korean show ‘Flower of Evil’ and what makes it more interesting is its cast.
Signifying the name the title ‘Duranga’ is written in two colours, red and grey, in the first look poster for the Zee5 series. In the background one can see popular TV star Drishti Dhami holding Gulshan Devaiah’s wrist in a handcuff over a counter top in a dimly lit kitchen of sort. This is very similar to the poster of the original series ‘Flower of Evil’.
Other than Drishti Dhami and Gulshan Devaiah, Duranga on Zee5 stars Abhijeet Khandkekar, Divya Seth Shah, Hera Mishra, Rajesh Khattar, Zakir Hussain, Barkha Sengupta, Nivedita Saraf, Sanjay Gurbaxani, Srinivasa Prasad Kiran and Sparsh Walia among others.
Helmed by Goldie Behl and Shraddha Singh, Zee5’s ’Duranga’ is directed by Pradeep Sarkar. As per the official synopsis, a romantic thriller drama ‘Duranga’ follows Sammit (Gulshan Devaiah) who hides a twisted past and maintains a facade of a perfect husband to his Inspector wife, Ira (Drishti Dhami). With a series of twists and turns, Ira begins investigating multiple gory copycat murders by the suspected accomplice of a psychopathic serial killer Bala, twenty years after his suicide.
This case leads her to some shocking revelations about her husband! In true Kafkaesque style, the story will show how the protagonists wade through constant problems, despite which, they stand tall. But still leaving you with a question – How well do you know your partner?
Coming to the original Korean drama ‘Flower of Evil’, the highly popular show is a suspense melodrama starring Lee Joon-gi, Moon Chae-won and Kim Ji-hoon among others. ‘Flower of Evil’ is currently available to stream on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and MXPlayer.
