Kannada film ‘Kantara’ proved to be a dark horse at the box office last year. Not only did it set the cash registers ringing at the Kannada box office, it also became a runaway success in other Indian languages, including in Hindi. Now, a year after the blockbuster success of Kantara, producers Hombale Films have revealed the first teaser for its sequel, titled ‘Kantara Legend: Chapter 1’.
The just-revealed first teaser for ‘Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1’ takes viewers back into the hypnotic world of Kantara, and its mesmerising folklore steeped in an overwhelming feeling of divinity. The teaser for Kantara 2 begins aptly with the all-familiar roar that won hearts in Kantara last year.
Soon, we get our first glimpse at creator and star Rishab Shetty, looking fiery and fierce, not to say, smouldering with passion and fervour. The familiar music from Kantara 1 rends the atmosphere of the teaser, lending mystique and grandeur to the visuals.
More than a sequel, Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1 will be a prequel of sorts to Kantara. It will tell the origin story of the legend that forms the center of the narrative in Kantara, the origin of the Bhootha Kola, the tribes and their protective deity and the abiding connection between man and nature.
Kantara Chapter 1 stars Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Urvashi Rautela and Kishore in pivotal roles. Rishab Shetty reprises his role as Shiva. The film is written and directed by Rishab Shetty, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur for Hombale Films.
