Fly Me To The Moon First Look Stars Scarlett Johansson & Channing Tatum

People Magazine has unveiled the official first-look images of Greg Berlanti’s upcoming film, Fly Me to the Moon, featuring the leads, Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum.

Johansson and Tatum are lovebirds in the film, which takes place in the 1960s, during the time when the Space Race between the Soviet Union and the United States was at its peak. The former plays Kelly Jones, an integral part of NASA’s marketing department who looks to improve the organisation’s public image. On the other hand, Tatum portrays Cole Davis, the launch director. According to the film’s official logline, Davis will stage “a fake moon landing as backup” in the film, as the US President hails the Lunar Mission as of utmost importance.

Apart from the leading duo, Fly Me to the Moon is jam-packed with talents like Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Woody Harrelson, Colin Woodell, Noah Robbins, Will Jacobs, Anna Garcia, and more.

Fly Me to the Moon is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on July 12, 2024. However, this release window may backfire on the film’s producers and Columbia Pictures (Sony). This summer, moviegoers will be bombarded with a barrage of big-budget films like Despicable Me 4 (July 3), Twisters (July 19), and Deadpool & Wolverine (July 26). In addition, Ti West’s highly anticipated indie slasher, MaXXXine (starring Mia Goth), will arrive in theatres on July 5. Given these movies’ release windows, it will be hard for Fly Me to the Moon to even breath properly at the box office, let alone soar. Stay tuned for more updates.
