Fool Me Once Leads Netflix’s Top 10 Chart Despite Mediocre Reception

Fool Me Once has maintained its number one spot on Netfiix’s Global Top 10 (TV) list. The popular British miniseries revolves around Maya Stern (played by Michelle Keegan), whose life turns upside down after a nanny cam shows her dead husband, Joe Burkett (Richard Armitage). She installs the nanny cam inside her house to keep an eye on her daughter. Meanwhile, Daniel (Daniel Burt) and Abby (Danya Griver), her nephew and niece, try to unearth the truth behind their mother’s death. Soon, the series starts to explore possible connections between both death cases.

Despite receiving a highly divisive response from critics and viewers, Fool Me Once has become a big hit on Netflix. It earned over 23.9 million views in its second week. Plus, it has garnered more than 153 million hours of viewing. These figures are impressive, considering the show gained over 37 million views in its first week, along with 238.2 million hours of viewing. These figures show that the miniseries has become quite popular on Netflix.

The overall response towards Fool Me Once has been highly polarised. The miniseries has a 64% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes (based on 11 reviews). Its audience’s response is more divisive, with a 46% score (based on over 500 reviews).

The series takes inspiration from Harlan Coben’s 2016 novel. This is not the first time the author’s work has been adapted into a show. In 2018, Netflix bestowed the ‘Safe’ series, another one of the author’s work.

Fool Me Once stars Michelle Keegan, Dino Fetscher, Richard Armitage, Joanna Lumley, Adeel Akhtar, Emmett J. Scanlan, and more. You can stream it on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates.
