‘1922’ is directed by Zak Hilditch and stars actors Thomas Jane, Neal McDonough, and Molly Parker. It tells the story of a Farmer named Wilfred who wants to murder his wife for monetary gains and he manages to convince his teenage son Henry for that matter too. But soon they go through some delusion and start living under it and things go in a completely different direction as planned. The film is adapted from the novella of the same name by bestseller author Stephen King. It is one of the best films in the horror thriller genre and you should not miss it at any cost.
The Platform (2019):
‘The Platform’ or ‘El Hoyo’ is a Spanish horror film written by David Desola and Pedro Rivero, and directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia. This Spanish film is a dystopian horror which tells the story inside a prison. There are prison cells with two inmates each and there are two cells vertically differentiating between levels. While the inmates above are given food, the inmates below just look at that as they are not provided with food. It is a highly discomforting movie and if you like horror and unsettling films, you should definitely watch it.
I’m Thinking Of Ending Things (2020):
‘I’m Thinking Of Ending Things’ is a psychological horror that came out in 2020 and is directed by Charlie Kaufman. It stars actors like Jesse Plemons, Jessie Buckley, Toni Collette and David Thewlis. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Lain Reid and tells the story of a young woman who travels to her parents’ farmhouse with her boyfriend. She starts posing questions to everything she knows about herself and her boyfriend and is soon disturbed by other things. The movie has some great performances and it was critically acclaimed as one great example of surrealist horror. You should give it a try.
In The Tall Grass (2019):
Here is one more Stephen King adaptation. ‘InThe Tall Grass’ tells the story of a brother and a sister who enter a field of tall grass and try to save a boy From an imminent danger. But they soon realize that there is something evil in the grass and they are stuck and cannot leave. It is a Canadian film directed by Vincenzo Natali and stars actors like Harrison Gilbertson, Laysla De Oliveira, Avery Whitted and others. A really well executed horror, In The Tall Grass is different from most films of the genre and is an interesting watch.
