The French miniseries Notre-Dame which is inspired by true events, is now streaming on Netflix. The dramatized version of the Cathedral fire incident and how the iconic cathedral was saved with no lives lost is directed by director Hervé Hadmar and the screenplay is written by the director along with his co-writer Olivier Bocquet. The show has a massive cast with actors like Megan Northam, Carouline Proust, Corentin Fila, Frédéric Chau, Alice Isaaz, Simon Abkarian
The series follows the story of the disastrous event that took place on the 15th of April in 2019. It witnesses the burning of the Notre-dame cathedral and also the stories of the people facing the consequences. The show wonderfully captures the heroic acts of the firefighters too.
This is one of the few retellings of the disaster that left the roof and the walls of the cathedral collapsed and devastated. A film named ‘Notre-dame On Fire’ was released earlier this year and there was also a virtual reality spin-off of the same in which players were put inside that chaos and they had to play to extinguish the fire.
Authorities are still uncertain of how the fire broke out. People believe that it had something to do with the restoration construction specifically in the spire. Whatever the cause maybe, the show is a wonderful one to watch. It has thrill, it has suspense, it has adventure and it has emotion. Make sure to watch all the episodes of ‘Notre Dame’ on Netflix.
