Jersey arrived in cinemas on April 18th for the Good Friday. It won great love and appreciation for the sensitive portrayal of the family drama between husband and wife and also the father and son. Nani’s performance, especially, was hailed as his career best.
The scenes involving Nani and the kid were beautifully conceived. Also, the rise of the underdog and the emotions associated with it were neatly executed, giving some wonderful moments, in the process. All along the background score by Anirudh was sensational and elevated the proceedings.
Commercially too, Jersey was a success and proved that the audience is ready to accept narrative-based stories if they are done well. Director Gowtham Tinnanuri of Malli Rava fame deserves praise in that regard. He stuck to the story and never deviated from it for commercial element’s sake.
Jersey is a movie that offers a perfect binge-watching experience. It is also a wholesome family affair, unlike many movies these days. Needless to say, it would be highly recommended for watching.
