Netflix has just dropped House Arrest, its latest Hindi original movie, on the OTT platform, and we just can’t wait to watch and review it for our discerning readers.
On paper, House Arrest boasts a compelling premise. A world-weary man, played by Ali Fazal, jaded and tired of the people, pain and pollution in the world outside, gives up his successful career and locks himself inside his home, refusing to step outside for even simple chores like grocery-shopping. Not only that, he doesn’t even let anyone into his home — his daily supplies are dropped off at the door, and neighbours and friends are fobbed off from entering.
The fun begins when a nosy journalist, played by Shriya Pilgaonkar, barges into his home and stays put. She is there at the behest of his best friend, played by Jim Sarbh, who has already tried— and failed— to get the man out. What follows is the hilarious development of a quaint love story between the two house-arrested individuals.
The 104-minute movie is directed by Shashanka Ghosh (Veere Di Wedding director) and Samit Basu, and it is written by Samit Basu.
House Arrest is streaming from today on Netflix. Watch it now, folks!
