‘From Blood and Ash’ Series Adaptation Is In The Works At Amazon

After dropping the heavy-budgeted live-action adaptations of The Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time, Amazon is ready to adapt Jennifer L. Armentrout’s From Blood and Ash novels into a tv series. Anne Cofell Saunders will serve as the writer and one of the showrunners for the show.

From Blood and Ash revolves around a young woman, Poppy. She gets chosen as The Maiden of her kingdom, ‘ascending’ and bringing a new era of peace and prosperity to her people. The burden of her responsibilities takes a toll on her, separating her from the outside world. She secretly trains with her guards to make herself a worthy fighter and save her kingdom from the evil lurking outside. However, her life takes a dramatic turn after the arrival of a marvelous guard, with a golden eye, in her life.

Poppy gains a new perspective on the outside world and prepares herself to demolish all boundaries. She must give her all to tackle her new destiny.

Apart from her writing duties, Saunders is also co-executively producing the series with Armentrout, Luke Ryan, and Sascha Hecks.

Armentrout’s Blood and Ash novel series consists of five entries. More details will surface about the upcoming Amazon adaptation in the future. Stay tuned for more updates.
