Frozen franchise is one of Disney’s most prized possessions. The fairytale has captivated millions of children worldwide, and the revenue never stopped from the merchandise that Disney has managed to move from the shelves with the second movie. which makes it quite obvious that the time for a third one was coming soon.
Recently, the new Creative Officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios, Jared Bush, revealed that a number of sequels are currently under production at Disney. These include Zootopia 2, the Moana sequel, and, of course, Frozen 3.
Frozen 3 is hoping for a November 2027 release. Bush teased all the fans with the statement that he made about the movie. “These characters, what theyre facing, what theyre going through, I think is going to surprise a lot of people.”
The production is being spearheaded by Jennifer Lee. She has even received an Academy Award for the best animated thriller film. She has worked on both the previous frozen movies and the Wreck It Ralph movie.
It was also revealed that the second Moana movie will tie her deeper into her heritage. The live-action version of Moana is also under work. Moana is perhaps carrying the most hype of the many projects Disney is cooking up as of now. The Zootopia sequel is also at work and will introduce us to many new characters.
Given that the last frozen movie was in 2019, it makes sense that the movie will require some changes as all the new fans need to be catered to by the studios all the while maintaining the magic of the original so that fans don’t feel alienated either.
