The official trailer for Vijay’s ‘G.O.A.T’ or ‘The Greatest Of All Time’ is out now. The movie is hitting the theaters on the 5th of September this year. ‘G.O.A.T’ is having a theatrical release of an unprecedented scale. It will be released at IMAX theaters alongside the traditional format and it will also be the first ever Tamil movie to be released in all screens throughout Tamilnadu.
The trailer seems to be a bit different from what fans have been speculating. This will be an espionage thriller and not a science fiction film. Vijay has double roles and he will be playing a father son duo. While the father is a calm and composed retired spy who is going to Thailand for a vacation, the son is the more energetic and zestful one determined to save his father’s life. The plot is not very clear but there seems to be a national threat and the Indian Agency deploys a group of agents under the leadership of Vijay’s character (the father).
‘The Greatest Of All Time’ is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Apart from Vijay, the film also stars actors like Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran. The music of the film is given by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the cinematography is handled by Siddhartha Nuni.
The production quality does not look very good and some frames from the trailer are really dull. While this is going to be the second last movie from the star, fans expect a movie that would keep up his legacy, just like ‘Leo’ managed to do. While one can find many similarities with ‘Leo’ in the trailer, it does not seem to have its grandeur.
