Gal Gadot is reportedly all set to make her grand return to the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise. Yes, her character Gisele was presumably killed off, but it will not be the first time a character killed off returned to the franchise.
Before Gal Gadot became a huge star with 2017’s ‘Wonder Woman’, her major Hollywood role was as Gisele Yashar in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise. Introduced in the 2009 film ‘Fast & Furious’, she helps Dominic Toretto’s team while forming a romantic relationship with team member Han Lue(Sung Kang). The character is presumably killed in the 2013 film ‘Fast & Furious 6’.
Interestingly, her love interest Han Lue was also killed off and recently returned in ‘Fast 9’. The 2021 film revealed that Kurt Russell’s Mr Nobody, who once worked with Gisele, helped Han fake his death in exchange for coming to work for him and as such, it wouldn’t be too unusual for him to do something similar with her as well.
Following the events of ‘F9’ (2021), in ‘Fast and Furious 10’ we will see antagonists Cipher(Momoa) and Dante(Theron) unite in their fight against Dominic Toretto(Diesel) and his crew, who are assisted by Tess(Larson).
The movie boasts of an already star-studded cast including big names- Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Cardi B, Helen Mirren, Rita Moreno, and Charlize Theron. Made at a budget of $340M, the movie will be one of the costliest films ever made.
Gadot’s ‘Justice League’ co-star Jason Momoa will be playing a new antagonist in the film. Gadot’s return is a welcome one for fans who were saddened by the uncertain future of ‘Wonder Woman 3’. Gisele was much loved during her appearance in the franchise. With Gadot a much bigger star, it is to be seen how the script incorporates her into the upcoming film.
