The penultimate episode of Game Of Thrones, Season 8 has taken a drastic turn in all the wrong sense possible. It has burnt the hopes of the fans to ashes, literally for an epic all-time great series with the turn of events. Forget satisfaction; it left many with numerous questions and no conclusive evidence for an answer.
The problem with the episode was not how it was shot or what, instead it was about the things that are happening and the diminishing writing that seems to have reached its lowest. It was terrible but thankfully was limited to a few minutes initially.
The entire episode was filled with one long burn to the ground action sequence that left a horrific impression. It left everyone rooting for Daenerys Targaryen scratching their heads in disappointment. Here was one character that was build up to heroic proportion throughout the earlier season, but in two episodes leading to the conclusion, everything turned upside down. There has been no foreshadowing it, and neither did the character look like it could behave like the way it did at any point until the concluding season.
There was really nothing to like barring a scene or two involving Tyrion Lannister. Just like him and the rest of the characters around, there has been utter disbelief for what just happened. It is an unredeemable act.
In a way, it might seem okay considering that there is only one episode left. There are a limited set of possibilities, and many already know what they could be. It is now all about closing things out as soon as possible and given that only the conclusion is left, one might feel alright or take solace in the fact that with the end, there will also be an end of disappointments.
