Gautham Menon to Play Antagonist in Sundeep Kishan Starrer ‘Michael’

Just a few months back, it was revealed that acclaimed actor Vijay Sethupathi will be sharing screen space alongside the talented performer Sundeep Kishan in what was being touted as a Pan-India film titled ‘Michael’. At the same time, the film’s first look poster was also unveiled.

And now, in yet another exciting development, eminent filmmaker and actor Gautham Vasudev Menon has been roped by the makers to feature in the film as the antagonist.

Written and directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi, ‘Michael’ will feature Sundeep Kishan in the titular role. The film’s precise plotline, remaining cast members, and details about what role Gautham Menon would be playing in ‘Michael’ are currently not known.

Recently, the National Film Award winner Gautham Menon was associated as a director in two acclaimed anthologies namely the multi-starrer ‘Navarasa’ and the hard-hitting ‘Paava Kadhaigal’. He had also acted in both these projects.

Interestingly, the film’s lead actor Sundeep Kishan had kickstarted his creative career as an assistant director to Gautham Menon. After making his acting debut with Deva Katta’s directorial film ‘Prasthanam’, Sundeep Kishan made his Hindi film debut in Raj & DK’s ‘Shor in the City’.

Subsequently, he also starred in Raj & DK’s cult spy series ‘The Family Man’. The 34-year-old actor was last seen in the Telugu romantic action-comedy movie ‘Gully Rowdy’.

Maverick filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon’s forthcoming directorial projects include ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ and ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’. While Sundeep Kishan will next be seen in ‘Naragasooran’. Moreover, Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming films are ‘Sangudevan’, ‘19 (1) (a)’, ‘Maamanithan’, ‘Idam Porul Yaeval’, ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ and ‘Mumbaikar’, amongst others.
