Many people love watching bloody action sequences and violence in superhero projects. To them, they add more fun and entertainment to the superhero projects. Not all may agree on this, but we do have to agree that the Rated-R mindset enables filmmakers or showrunners to twist the conventional superhero formula in unpredictable ways, allowing them to bestow mind-bending plot twists to audiences and tarnish the boundaries of ‘noble heroism’. This section of filmmaking does not have many projects. Some of the most prominent ones are Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool series and Wesley Snipes’ Blade series. Speaking of bloody action and thrilling action sequences, we have recommended an amazing superhero show that will blow your mind in every sense. The show’s name is Invincible, streaming on Prime Video.
Based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, Invincible revolves around a normal high-school student, Mark Grayson. Soon, he discovers that he possesses powers like his father, Nolan Grayson, better known by his superhero persona, Omni-Man. He decides to name himself Invincible. As he starts learning more about his powers, he realises that being a superhero is not that easy. Soon, he finds himself getting embroiled in a complicated web of battles against villains and superhero politics. Things go completely south after he discovers a horrifying truth about his father, resulting in a bloody physical confrontation between the two.
Invincible immensely benefits from its complex, mature, and unpredictable storytelling. The show dares to explore the dark and sinister sides of humans and superheroes. Additionally, its perfectly placed cliffhangers and plot twists will keep you hooked to your screens. The series also treasures a terrific voice cast, consisting of Steven Yeun as Invincible and J. K. Simmons as Omni-Man. Both performers give their all to their respective characters.
Another thing that makes Invincible a great show is that it takes time to build its characters and deeply explores their relationships with one another. Plus, the series has top-quality animation, which makes fight sequences terrific. It currently stands at a rating of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 86 reviews.
