Get Ready To Be Blown Away By This Epic Isaac Asimov Space Saga!

Apple TV+ recently released the teaser of it’s upcoming sci-fi series ‘FOUNDATION’ during Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference 2020. The series is an adaptation of the award winning influential novels by Isaac Asimov of the same name. Asimov’s sci-fi book franchise kicked off with “Foundation,” which was followed by six additional books throughout the years. Various entities have attempted to create film or TV adaptions of the novels over the years, but none came to fruition successfully.

The teaser opens with showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Batman Begins) sharing a glimpse into the making of the epic saga, which chronicles, per Apple TV+, “a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.” In the teaser one can get a glimpse of the grandiose of the upcoming series, with stellar visuals and stunning effects. The teaser also includes some hints about how Goyer and the rest of the creative team are approaching the adaptation.

The story depicts the fall of a Galactic Empire and the efforts of Hari Sheldon (Jared Harris), inventor of a new predictive science called psychohistory, to limit the period of chaos. While in the books the story is spread over hundreds of years and ever-changing characters, it appears that the role of Hari Seldon is there to stay. In addition, some key characters have been reconceived as women of color (Lou Llobell as Gaal), and the whole thing looks much more visually spectacular than the action-light, dialogue-heavy stories.

The star cast of Foundation includes two-time Emmy-nominee Jared Harris (Mad Men, Chernobyl) as Hari Seldon, Lee Pace (Halt and Catch Fire) as Brother Day, newcomer Lou Llobell as Gaal, Leah Harvey (TV’s Les Misérables mini) as Salvor, Laura Birn (The Innocents) as Demerzel, Terrence Mann (Sense8) as Brother Dusk, and Cassian Bilton as play Brother Dawn.

“Foundation” is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ sometime in 2021.

Apple TV+ is constantly working on creating an engaging platform for its audience by roping in content that will amaze them. Earlier this month it created a lot of buzz when it revealed that Apple would premiere the Tom Hanks-led “Greyhound” on the streaming service in July. The streaming service recently forayed into animated content with “Central Park,” a musical sitcom created by Loren Bouchard, Nora Smith, and Josh Gad. Looks like Apple TV+ is going to give a tough competition to other contenders in the field in the time to come.
