The second season of ‘Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power‘ will have an all female director team now.
French director Charlotte Brändström will return to direct the second season too. She is well known for directing episodes of ‘The Witcher’, ‘The Unlikely Murder’, ‘The Outsider’. She also was one of the directors in the first season of ‘The Rings Of Power’ and directed 3 episodes. Moroccan filmmaker Sanaa Hamri will also be there in the team of directors for the second season. She is known for other famous shows like ‘The Wheel Of Time’, ‘Empire’ and many more. Louise Hooper, known for directing episodes of ‘Sandman’, ‘The Witcher’ is also in the team.
Wayne Che Yip and J. A Bayona, the two directors from the first season will not be in the new team. We will have to wait to see what new changes will be done to the story. There will definitely be a visible distinctive way of storytelling that was not there in the first season. There was constant comparison of the series with the movie trilogy inspite of great views and positive reviews.
Hamri and Hooper will be directing two episodes each. The series has a huge fan following now and the dedicated fanbase of the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ books by J.R.R Tolkien and the movie trilogy are excited to witness the retelling of the story in a larger scale and in a more detailed way.
The Amazon Prime Video original is developed by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and it tells the story of the rise of middle-earth quite long before the events of ‘Lord Of The Rings’ films. Season 2 will follow the story where season 1 ended.
