New Empire Magazine images from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire show Annie Potts’ Janine Melnitz donning the Ghostbuster suit. It means that Janine has finally joined the gang, which originally consisted of the likes of Dr. Peter Vankman (Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), and Dr. Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson). The gang also had Dr Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), who lost his life in Ghostbusters: Afterlife while trying to destroy Gozer.
Janine should have become a Ghostbuster by now, considering how important she has been to the original gang for so many years. Despite being a receptionist, she never hesitated to help Ghostbusters and aided the gang in any way she could. Many fans believe that Sony should have made Annie Potts’ Janine the first live-action female Ghostbuster instead of bestowing a forced female-centric project in 2016, which starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.
