Giancarlo Esposito has been a fan-favorite casting choice for the MCU for a long time. The Breaking Bad actor recently teased his involvement with a “new and original and fresh” MCU project. He also disclosed that the project would arrive sooner than our expectations. It seems like he was not wrong after all.
A new report from Murphy’s Multiverse reveals that Giancarlo Esposito will join Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford in Captain America: Brave New World. More than half of the film’s shooting was completed before Hollywood strikes forced a pause. During this break, Marvel Studios reportedly decided to retool the project and brought in writer Matthew Orton for reshoots. It seems like Orton has added Esposito’s character to the film.
Esposito appeared at the recently concluded Phoenix Fan Fusion 2024 event. The actor discussed his MCU role at the event. According to him, fans won’t be able to predict his MCU character. Marvel Studios will tease his character in a project and will develop a series around him afterward. Based on what we have so far, it looks like Brave New World will tease Esposito’s character via a cameo.
Giancarlo Esposito is a highly talented performer, best known for his work in prominent TV projects, such as Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Boys, The Mandalorian, Kaleidoscope, and The Gentlemen.
Captain America: Brave New World will arrive in theatres globally on February 14, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
