Godzilla Minus One’ Sequel Won’t Be A Standalone

Don’t think of it as another Godzilla movie; a fresh take with a fresh vision is exactly what was necessary for the franchise. Though, in parallel, the American counterpart was investing big bucks, Japan comes out with a surge of massive creativity.

Godzilla Minus One broke a lot of box office records in the US, and that too with massive numbers and a pretty long run. But as both the Godzilla-universe and monster verse are trying to make a place, the fascinated fans did ask for the upcoming plans about the Godzilla Minus One franchise.

During an interview, Takashi Yamazaki, the director of Godzilla Minus One, clearly said that the next film from the franchise will feature other monsters, leaving room for speculations for the fans.

“If I were to direct the next Godzilla movie, I would like to do a sequel to this one. There have been two standalone Godzilla films in a row now, so perhaps the next one will need to feature a villain monster.”

Mothra or Hedorah might come back to the big screen; it will definitely give them a strong start, as introducing it with the most fierce opponents will harm the franchise from the very beginning. A mistake that Monster verse committed; Toho shouldn’t make such mistakes.

Also, to the makers—SAVE KING GHIDORAH FOR LATER. Though he is the most powerful kaiju, good character build-up is necessary when it comes to the franchise, and that is one thing it has always missed.

Also getting a nomination in the 96th Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects, the film and the quality of it are indeed impeccable. Soon, it might come to OTT as the globe will definitely be waiting.
