Netflix’s animated reboot of the groundbreaking Norman Lear’s CBS sitcom, Good Times, has received an official trailer. The series will have 10 episodes and will premiere on the streaming platform on April 12.
The upcoming animated reboot series will have voices of talented performers, like Yvette Nicole Brown (Beverly Evans), J.B. Smoove (Reggie Evans), Jay Pharoah (Junior Evans), Gerald “Slink” Johnson (Dalvin Evans), Marsai Martin (Grey Evans), and more.
As per the show’s official synopsis, the rebooted Good Times animated series will focus on the newest generation of the Evans family. Reggie is the man of the family, who is a cab driver. He lives with his family, consisting of his wife Beverly and children. They are somehow surviving in a poor and horrible-looking housing project in the city of Chicago.
Apart from Reggie and Beverly, the latest Good Times trailer shows Dalvin, an infant who makes drug deals and likes women. Plus, we have the daughter Grey, an activist, and the son Junior, an artist.
Despite all the difficulties, the thing that keeps the Evans family strong is love. The latest trailer shows no effect on the members of the family of the changing outside world. Based on what we have watched in the trailer, it seems like the animated reboot will deal with plenty of sensitive real-life issues.
Sony Pictures Television, Fuzzy Door (Seth MacFarlane), Act III Productions (Lear), and Unanimous Media (Steph Curry) have co-produced the animated reboot series, Good Times. It will arrive on Netflix on April 12. Stay tuned for more updates. Check out the trailer below!
