GOT Creators Begin Netflix Stint With A Dramedy Featuring Killing Eve’s Actress

Game Of Thrones creators Dan Benioff and DB Weiss signed a $200 million deal with Netflix in the summer last year. It was after their contract with HBO ended, post the conclusion of the epic series Game Of Thrones.

As part of the deal with Netflix, Benioff and Weiss are coming with their first project. They are going to co-produce a show named The Chair. Amanda Peet, actor (Togetherness, Brockmire) and wife of Dan Benioff, will be seen as the showrunner, and co-creator.

The Chair will be headed by Sandra Oh. She is part of the highly acclaimed thriller series Killing Eve. Jay Duplass of Transparent fame will also be part of the show set in university backdrop. It is reportedly about a chair of the English department there. The Chair will be six episodes long and half an hour in duration.

The filming of the series is expected to begin soon. The Chair will be followed with keen interest to see if the creators of Game Of Thrones (Dan Benioff and DB Weiss) deliver outside HBO. Buzz is that The Chair was pitched years ago by them at HBO itself, but was put on the backburner. Under such a scenario, there will be immense scrutiny on it, no doubt.
