GOT Spinoff, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms, Gets Release Window

The planned Game of Thrones spinoff series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, has received a release window from David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery.

The forthcoming spinoff will take inspiration from George R. R. Martin’s novels, Tales of Dunk and Egg. This trilogy of novellas takes place 90 years before the original Game of Thrones series events. It means that The Hedge Knight’s events will occur between GOT and House of the Dragon. The prequel spinoff will explore the early adventures of the duo of Ser Duncan the Tall (better known as “Dunk”) and Aegon V Targaryen (known as “Egg”).

While speaking during Warner Bros. Discovery’s latest earnings call, Zaslav disclosed the release window of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’. The much-anticipated show will come out in late 2025. However, the CEO did not mention its exact release date.

WBD seems to be taking a more cautious approach in greenlighting GOT-based projects. Instead of focusing on the proliferation of projects like Marvel Studios, the prominent media conglomerate is taking time in terms of giving approval and scheduling its GOT content.

Casting is yet to commence for ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’ series. Season 1 of the upcoming GOT spinoff may have six episodes. In addition, many reports have confirmed that WBD plans to develop three seasons for the show to cover every novella. Stay tuned for more updates.
