GOT Star Lena Headey To Lead Kurt Stutter’s ‘The Abandons’ On Netflix

Ordered in October last year, Netflix has now got the lead star for its upcoming western action drama series ‘The Abandons’. Well known for her role as Cersei Lannister in the globally hit HBO drama ‘Game of Thrones’, Lena Headey will now lead Netflix’s ’The Abandons’.

Headey will play the role of Fiona in ‘The Abandons’, a matriarch who adopts four orphans after being unable to have children of her own. Driven by her faith and strong-willed Irish temper, Fiona will do anything to protect her family — which is key to survival in this dangerous landscape.

Created and executive produced by showrunner Kurt Sutter (‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Mayans M.C.’), ‘The Abandons’ tells the story of a group of diverse families pursuing their Manifest Destiny in1850s Oregon.

These abandoned souls live on the fringes of society, and must unite their tribes to fight against a corrupt force of wealth and power that’s trying to drive them out of their land. The Western drama will explore the bloody consequences of fighting for one’s home as the line between survival and law is blurred.

Lena Headey is a five-time Emmy nominee actress who is known for her roles in films like ‘300’, ‘Dredd’, ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ and shows like ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ and ‘Game of Thrones’. Her upcoming project includes HBO’s ‘White House Plumbers’.

‘The Abandons’ will premiere soon only on Netflix’s stay tuned to binged.com for further updates on ‘The Abandons’.
