Anthony Bourdain’s popular graphic Novel ‘Get Jiro!’ will soon have a series adaptation. And the work will be done by none other than Adult Swim. Adult Swim is an animation production house that is known for its shows like ‘The Boondocks’, ‘Smiling Friends’, ‘Family Guy’ etc. But the most popular show from the studio is, without any doubt, the Hilarious ‘Rick and Morty’. It is great news that a popular graphic novel like Get Jiro! is being adapted by the makers of Rick and Morty.
Get Jiro! is created by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka, who also have the A24 drama ‘Sharper’ in their credits. Apart from Get Jiro, the studio will also be bringing out ‘Super Mutant Magic Academy’. And the popular show ‘My Adventures With Superman’ has been renewed for a third season now.
The show will be set in Los Angeles in some parallel reality where customers resort to murder to secure a table at a restaurant. Jiro, the protagonist, is a chef in this terrifying restaurant and he is contemplating revenge upon somebody for years. The graphic Novel manages to be funny as well as bloody, without trying to be preachy. This looks so much similar to other shows from Adult Swim. Voice casting, release date and other details will be revealed later on.
There is no further information about the project, but keep checking on Binged to get if any.
