Great News: Bangladeshi Thriller Surongo To Release In India Soon!

The Bangladeshi filmmakers are setting new trends in every possible way. Making films with Hollywood level execution in such small budgets, this is something that the Indian film industries should learn from Dhaka Films.

Hawa has now garnered a huge amount of views in the Indian subcontinent as well, after its OTT premiere in SonyLIV. The Chanchal Chowdhury starrer had a limited theatrical release in Nandan and it was appreciated by critics and audiences.

But here is some great news for fans of Bangladeshi cinema. Afran Nisho’s debut feature ‘Surongo’ will soon be released in West Bengal and it will not be a limited run like Hawa. Currently it is to release only in West Bengal, and if the response is good, there can be a pan India release as well. SVF is distributing the film in India.

Surongo’ is a prison escape thriller and Afran Nisho plays an inmate. Surongo means ‘tunnel’ in Bengali and the film will be about the inmate trying to dig a tunnel from the prison. There will be some flashback scenes as well where Nisho plays an ordinary and regular man. The film is directed by Raihan Rafi. Raihan Rafi is known for directing successful films like ‘Poran’ and ‘Damal’.

The film had a great response in Bangladesh and is already a superhit there. Afran Nisho is one of the most popular actors in Bangladesh and his big screen debut is a historical success. For film buffs it is great news that now Surongo will be released in India. Hopefully it is just the beginning of many Bangladeshi film releases in India.
