Reportedly, Greta Gerwig is being eyed by Netflix for the adaptation of ‘Chronicles Of Narnia’. It had been announced long ago, that the platform is eyeing for a new version of the classic story of Narnia.
In October 2018, it was announced that Netflix has come into a multi-year deal with C.S Lewis Company to adapt several stories and novels. It was later told that Matthew Alrich will act as a creative architect of the projects.
There will most probably be two movies of the series and Greta Gerwig is being targeted to be directing both of them. Gerwig is known for Little Women, Lady Bird, Mistress America, and Frances Ha. And her upcoming ‘Barbie’ is one of the most anticipated movies of all times. She will be starring in a Netflix movie ‘White Noise’.
‘Chronicles Of Narnina’ is a seven book series of fantasy novels written by C.S Lewis. There has been many screen, TV and stage adaptations of the stories, most popular of course is the franchise with two movies directed by Andre Adamson. The Chronicles of Narnia:
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was the third movie of the series, based on the third novel. It was directed by Michael Apted.
Greta Gerwig is known for her eccentric world building and exceptional takes on fantasy. If she finally does direct the Chronicles Of Narnia, it will surely be a wonderful one. And after the success of Barbie, Narnia will hopefully be another milestone for fantasy.
