As the Oscars are over and we are officially putting Barbie and her mastermind, Gerwig, to rest, the creator is now investing her mind in new projects, which is definitely exciting for her fans. Though Barbie managed to have a mediocre award ceremony, the new update is enough to cheer fans up.
She was already associated with the reboot of Narnia, and now it is being updated that the film has entered the pre-production stage.
After the Academy Awards, Gerwig announced the start of pre-production for her upcoming Narnia adaptation. She plans to return to London to continue work on the project, slated for release on Netflix. Still in the early stages, she aims to hire key department heads to maintain fidelity to the source material in terms of special effects.
Gerwig’s film will adapt the first Narnia book, “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe,” with plans for a second based on the series. While pre-production is underway, filming won’t commence until late 2024 or early 2025, as reported.
Talking about the script of Narnia, Gerwig disclosed that she penned it before commencing filming for Barbie. If she can execute the films properly, children will definitely have a positive time ahead in terms of entertainment.
