Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Under Processing, Confirms James Gunn

Attention all Marvel fans, we finally have news of Guardians of the Galaxy one shot which was first announced in 2020. The upcoming Disney+ content named Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is very much under processing as confirmed by director James Gunn.

Earlier yesterday, Guardians of the Galaxy director took to his twitter to share the news with the fan that he is working on the first draft of the script for the Holiday Special. He captioned “This is the wrapping. The present is inside. #GotGHS”

Gunn also confirmed through a short Q&A with a few fans concerning the tweet where he confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will take place after the events of Thor: Love & Thunder, which is scheduled to hit the theaters in May 6th, 2022, and before third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy, which is slated to go live in 2023.

Now, we already know that Thor: Love & Thunder will have an ensemble cast of Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale and Russell Crowe as Zeus, father of the Olympian gods. Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi will once again lend his voice as Korg in the movie. Thor: Love and Thunder will follow Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the Phase 4 of MCU.

Director James Gunn is currently occupied with the release of DC’s The Suicide Squad which is scheduled to release on 30th July, 2021. Now as far the MCU tradition goes, it’s evident that Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’s plot is being kept under wraps but now as James Gunn confirmed it will appear somewhere between the events of Thor: Love & Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it will be interesting to see how the makers approach now with the character of the one shot which will be releasing on Disney+.
