Marvel Studios has dropped the brand new trailer of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The new clip was unveiled during this year’s Super Bowl. The film marks Gunn’s final contribution to the Marvel Studios before focusing primarily on DCU.
Set after the events of ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’, Vol 3 focuses on Peter Quill (Star-Lord) and the rest of the oddballs as they embark on their final journey as Guardians. This time, we have a new adversary in the form of High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji). He is a narcissistic and sociopathic scientist who believes in making a perfect society. A specialist in evolution, he also performed various torturous experiments on Rocket and turned him into the genetically-engineered racoon we know.
Also, we have Will Poulter as Adam Warlock. The Golden High Priestess of the Sovereign, Ayesha, teased him during Vol 2’s end-credits scene. He was created only to destroy Guardians. Although, he doesn’t know much about life and is basically a baby.
Furthermore, Gamora is back! Yes, she is that same Gamora who was brought back from MCU’s 2014 timeline during the events of Avengers: Endgame.
GOTG Vol 3 features all the familiar faces: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sylvester Stallone in addition to the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as Rocket and Groot respectively. Additionally, we have Maria Bakalova (voice of Cosmo the Spacedog), Daniela Melchior, and Nico Santos in the cast. The film will hit the theatres worldwide on May 5. Stay tuned for more updates.
