The Mishra family is back with Naye Kisse. Sony Liv announced that Season 3 of the comedy drama will be streaming soon on the platform. It released a teaser as well for the upcoming season. Gullak is a series created by Shreyansh Pandey under the banner of The Viral Fever (TVF). Set in a small town in India, the show follows the lives of the Mishra family.
Season 1 of the show premiered on TVF Play and in Sony Liv, on 27 June 2019, with the entire season comprising 5 episodes. Season 2, again comprising 5 episodes, aired on 15 January 2021. The show is another major success for TVF who have various successful shows like Permanent Roommates, Kota Factory, Panchayat and Aspirants, to name a few, under their banner.
Season 1 of the show received overwhelming positive responses which led to the show being renewed for a second season. Narrated by a Gullak (Piggybank), it portrays a middle-class family and the problems they face as part of their daily lives. Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Harsh Mayar star in lead roles as members of the Mishra Family, with Sunita Rajwar stars as their neighbour.
In 2021, Season 2 of the show won 5 Filmfare OTT awards. It swept the category of awards meant for a comedy series winning the award for Best Actor – Male and Female in a comedy series, Best Supporting Actor – Male and Female in a comedy series and the Best Comedy Series.
No further details on the release date or the number of episodes for season is released yet. The teaser focuses on the sons of the Mishra Family – Annu (Vaibhav Raj Gupta) and Aman Mishra (Harsh Mayar).
