To assume that the big names in Hollywood keep busy is an educated guess. To assume that a big name like Jake Gyllenhaal keeps busy, however, is no longer a guess, but a straight-up fact.
Still riding the high of his massively successful gritty action film ‘Road House’ aka Amazon MGM Studios’ most-watched film debut, the BAFTA-winning American actor has a packed upcoming schedule. While his courtroom thriller ‘Presumed Innocent’ is on the way to its premiere on Apple TV+ on June 12, the 43-year-old has also officially joined the ensemble cast of ‘The Bride’, a highly anticipated forthcoming title from his older sister and renowned actress – filmmaker, Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The science fiction horror title also stars Penélope Cruz, Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Julianne Hough, John Magaro, and Jeannie Berlin. The film is based on the works of iconic English novelist Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.
The plot revolves around Frankenstein, an artificial man pieced together from corpses, who asks his creator, Dr. Euphronius to help create a companion. Together, they give life to a murdered woman as the Bride. This controversial (mis)step sparks a whirlwind romance, police interest, and radical social change.
The awaited film will premiere globally in theatres on October 3, 2025!
