ALT Balaji is back with a new series to keep digital viewers occupied in the midst of the lockdown. Titled ‘Hai Taubba’, the new show is an anthology of four stories that deals with suppressed sexuality, a situation most Indians are all too familiar with. ALT Balaji has just launched the trailer for the show, along with revealing the release date. Hai Taubba releases on the platform on 6th May.
Hai Taubba seems to be cast in the same mould as ALT Balaji’s flagship erotica show, Gandii Baat. There’s much emphasis on sex, with several explicit love-making scenes peppering the trailer. Two of the stories focus on same sex love – one gay and lesbian love story each. One story is apparently centred on male sexuality in the forties. The fourth story is unclear – it seems to tell the tale of a couple where the husband uses his wife as a sexual sop – to pleasure his business associates, rivals or as part of a wife-swapping game.
For some reason, ALT Balaji has roped in a clutch of Bengali actors for the series. Tuhina Das makes her Hindi OTT debut. Gagan Anand, Bhakti Maniar, Simran Mishrikoti, Shaheb Bhattacharjee, Rohan Ghose, Akshay Neb, Sachin Khurana, Megha Mathur, are some of the other actors cast in the four stories.
Akaash Berry, Parth Ahuja, Baljit Singh Chaddha Hai form the crew for Hai Taubba. The show releases on ALT Balaji on 6th May.
