The opening season of the military sci-fi action series ‘Halo’ premiered last year in March. Despite mixed reviews, the show became the most-watched series premiere internationally on Paramount+ in the first 24 hours, as per the OTT platform. It was renewed for a second season, whose release date was not revealed, that is, until now!
As per the latest buzz and an apparently accidental release date revelation, ‘Halo Season-2’ will start streaming on Paramount Plus from 8th February 2024. However, an official release date announcement is still awaited because the release date info, which was posted for some time on YouTube, was later removed.
As you know, Paramount+ is not available in India as a dedicated streaming platform. But ‘Halo Season-1’ can still be steamed in India on the Jio Cinema and Voot OTT platforms. So, most likely, when ‘Halo Season-2’ premieres in the US on Paramount on 8thFebruary, it should be made available in India on the same day. BecauseSeason-1 too started streaming in India on the same day as in the US.
For the unversed, ‘Halo’ is a nine-part series based on the immensely popular military action-adventure science fiction game of the same name. It features Pablo Schreiber as a genetically enhanced super-soldier called Master Chief and the premise revolves around how the protagonist defends the human race from an advanced alien alliance known as Covenant in the 26th century. Eminent Indian actress Shabana Azmi (Arth, Masoom) is also a part of the show. She essayed the role of Admiral Margaret Parangosky in the series. The series is based on the popular videogames series of the same name.
‘Halo S1’ currently holds a 70% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. When the first season came out last year, it was met with some criticisms. As per reports, the makers have ironed out those flaws and it is expected that ‘Halo Season-2’ will be a better received season compared to the first. Let’s see!
