Hanuman On JioCinema: Viewer Backlash Over Excessive Ads

After minting over 330 crores against a 40-crore budget at the box office, Prasanth Varma’s Hanuman premiered simultaneously on JioCinema and Colors Cineplex on March 16. Many JioCinema subscribers were desperate to watch the Teja Sajja starrer due to its highly positive response from critics and viewers. The premiere was supposed to provide a memorable movie-watching experience to the subscribers. Instead, they got Hanuman plagued with too many ads.

For many JioCinema subscribers, Hanuman turned out to be an irritating watch on the night of March 16. It was not because of the film’s content but because of all the advertisements the OTT platform displayed during the film. Many subscribers have complained about watching too many ads while streaming Hanuman despite having a premium subscription plan. This scenario does not make any sense at all. What is the point of purchasing a premium subscription plan if it fails to offer an ad-free watching experience to subscribers?

TATA IPL 2024 is set to commence on March 22. Let’s hope JioCinema does not spoil their watching experience with excessive ads.

Hanuman is now streaming on JioCinema. The film stars Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Samuthirakani, Vinay Rai, Vennela Kishore, and more. Prasanth Varma helmed and wrote the film. Stay tuned for more updates.
