Prime Video has released the trailer of their series Happy Family Conditions Apply. After Maja Ma, Prime Video has again bet on a Gujarati family story but this time in a series.
It stars veteran actress Ratna Pathak Shah along with Raj Babbar, Atul Kulkarni, Ayesha Jhulka, Raunaq Kamdar, and Meenal Sahu. It is about a Gujarati family that is quintessentially Gujarati. They are very particular about their culture and often try to follow whatever the traditions say.
However, things go out of hand, as expected. The son of the family gets involved in a homosexual relationship with a non-Gujarati man in the USA. Also, another member buys a flat and decides to leave the family house.
This is not received well by the people as they think it is a corruption of their culture. Interestingly, there is a lot of melodramatic fun instead of typical “rona dhona” in usual Hindi dramas.
This reminds us of Supriya Pathak led Khichdi which yet again was funny in its flaws.
Happy Family Conditions Apply is coming for streaming on Prime Video from the 10th of March onwards. After a brilliant marketing campaign for Farzi, Prime Video is back to basics as they are giving just one week window to this new series from announcement to release.
