2022 has been an entertaining and exciting year for cinema lovers. And two recent, albeit drastically different films, namely James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ and Rian Johnson’s ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ have given 2022 the December it deserved. And both these movies have now cracked the top 50 international narrative feature films list of 2022 on the Auckland-based movies-centric social platform Letterboxd.

The Netflix whodunnit ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ currently holds Rank 27 on the said Letterboxd list. On the other hand, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ has secured Rank 42 on the same list. So, it’s ‘Glass Onion’ which has outranked the ‘Avatar’ sequel.
The Letterboxd 2022 top 50 international films list has been topped by Peter Jackson’s ‘The Beatles: Get Back – The Rooftop Concert’ (Rank 1) followed by the widely acclaimed multiverse action flick ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ (Rank 2), and the Indian film ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ (Rank 4).
Other films on the Letterboxd top 50 list include the historical drama ‘Argentina 1985’ (Rank 10), S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ (Rank 12), Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Fabelmans’ (Rank 14), Tom Cruise starrer ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ (Rank 17), ‘The Batman’ (Rank 23), German war drama ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ (Rank 34), ‘Decision to Leave’ (Rank 44), and Kamal Haasan’s explosive actioner ‘Vikram’ (Rank 46), amongst others.
