Jio Hotstar launched the trailer of it’s upcoming direct-to-digital release ‘Dil Dosti Aur Dogs’ where in four different stories of colorectal the themes of love, healing and second chances with dogs playing an important role in it all.
Helmed by Viral Shah, ‘Dil Dosti Aur Dogs’ stars Neena Gupta, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sharad Kelkar, Ehan Bhat, Tinnu Anand, Trisha Choudhary, Keerti Kelkar, and Avyana Chhorwani. The film is set to premiere on Jio Hotstar on 28th February, 2025.
Ever since the merger between Jio Cinema and Disney+ Hotstar has been in play, the former has been dumping its pending projects on the latter without expecting much out of them.
This is evident with the latest ‘Dil Dosti Aur Dogs’ and before that with ‘Kaushal Ji Vs Kaushal’, and ‘Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story’.
All of these titles were launched almost silently without much fanfare highlight not only the low relevance of these films but also showing how Jio Studios had been waiting for the official merger so that it could just dump them somewhere.
Not that these scripts are all bad but the kind of step motherly treatment they have been dealt with by Jio does reduce their credibility. Last minute launches, no promotional campaign and stuff are all indicative of this.
