HBO Hits Bullseye. Gets Jodie Foster for True Detective Season-4

A couple of months back, it was announced that the fourth installment of HBO’s ‘True Detective’ series titled ‘True Detective: Night Country’ was in the works. And now, in an exciting update, Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster has been roped in for the lead role for the show’s fourth season. Besides, she will also act as one of the executive producers for the eagerly anticipated series created by Nic Pizzolatto.

Jodie Foster will be essaying the role of Detective Liz Danvers in ‘True Detective: Night Country’. The plot revolves around Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro who investigate the case of the mysterious disappearance of a group of six men who work at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station in Ennis, Alaska. The duo must unearth the truth while dealing with their own demons.

The show’s co-writer Issa Lopez has been set to direct some episodes of True Detective Season-4 and that includes the opening episode as well.

The ‘True Detective’ crime anthology series has been impeccable so far when it comes to casting its lead actors. The first season featured Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in the main roles. They are also the executive producers for Season-4. While the second season starred Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch, and Vince Vaughn in the lead roles. And Season-3 had another Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali. And now, it seems that HBO has hit yet another bull’s eye by enlisting an actor of Jodie Foster’s caliber for True Detective Season-4.

‘True Detective’ wouldn’t be Jodie Foster’s first outing for the small screen. However, it would be her first major acting role for a series as an adult. Previously, the ‘Contact’ actress has been associated with series like ‘The X-Files’ (voice) besides directing episodes for some shows like ‘House of Cards’, ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Orange is the New Black’. Jodie Foster will next be seen in the Netflix sports biopic movie ‘Nyad’. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on ‘True Detective: Night Country’.
