Currently, HBO Max is the most talked about the streaming platform in the world. The reasons are not very nice as people are extremely disappointed with the ongoing chaos.
Batgirl got canceled, original films are getting removed and there is a mess all over. But, there is something new which people might be interested in.
Discovery Plus, the major platform famous for documentaries is going to merge with HBO Max. Warner Bros Discovery announced that by the summer of 2023, the two streaming giants will merge into one.
But more than that, there is something more tempting. We all know that the biggest problem with HBO Max is its availability in only a few countries. Outside the USA, even in huge markets like the UK and India, some other platforms like Disney+Hotstar, and Prime Video have to host their content.
In a way, it is good as we don’t have to separately purchase the subscription of HBO Max as a whole. But, we have to compromise by not getting access to every show/movie they make.
Thus, HBO Max and Discovery Plus will also be expanding to the rest of the world.
The combined platform will be available in Latin America in the fall of 2023; Europe in early 2024; the Asia Pacific in mid-2024; and additional markets in fall 2024.
This is great news as we can expect them to arrive in India in 2024. What are your thoughts on the same?
