HBO has finally announced the premiere date of its much awaited but long delayed limited series, ‘The Undoing’. The content behemoth has announced that the intriguing suspense drama will release on 25th October on the channel. Viewers in India can expect ‘The Undoing’ to drop on HBO’s Indian collaborator, Disney Plus Hotstar on 26th October.
HBO’s ‘The Undoing‘ is one of the most buzzy shows to make its way to the streaming domain. It is a psychological drama, adapted from the book ‘You Should Have Known’, by Jean Hanff Korelitz. It is a product of Emmy-winning Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley, while Emmy, Oscar and Golden Globe-winning director Susanne Bier is helming the project. Bier has earlier helmed Netflix‘s acclaimed psychological horror movie, Bird Box, and BBC’s The Night Manager.
The Undoing brings together an eclectic cast of Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Edgar Ramirez, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Matilda De Angelis, Lily Rabe, Noma Dumezweni and Donald Sutherland.
Grace Fraser (Nicole Kidman) is a successful therapist, who lives the perfect life with her husband, Jonathan (Hugh Grant), and son (Noah Jupe), who attends an elite private school in New York City. Her idyllic life is shattered when the violent death of a woman is revealed to be the consequence of her husband’s actions. To make matters worse, Jonathan is nowhere to be found, leaving Grace to pick up the pieces of the very public disaster after him.
Further sinister revelations make her realise how little she really knows of her husband. Donald Sutherland plays Grace’s protective father in ‘The Undoing’. The series follows on the heels of Kidman’s earlier streaming success, Big Little Lies.
HBO has also released a new teaser for ‘The Undoing’. Check it out here –
