The fourth and final season of HBO’s widely admired dark comedy crime drama series ‘Barry’ is all set for its premiere on 16th April, albeit not in India. The show was earlier streaming in India on the Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform before 1st April, but like other HBO originals, ceased to stream after the end of the licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery.
It remains to be seen which Indian OTT platform will showcase HBO titles including ‘Barry’ hopefully in the near future. Meanwhile, early reviews for ‘Barry’ Season-4 are already pouring in. And they are simply superb!
As of now, ‘Barry’ Season-4 boasts of a perfect 100% critics’ score on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes based on 14 reviews so far. The audience verdict too will be out soon in a few days.
Moreover, on another popular reviews’ aggregation portal Metacritic, ‘Barry’ Season-4 has secured an incredibly good initial metascore of 95, indicating ‘Universal Acclaim’ as per the website.
So, on both counts, ‘Barry S4’ has outdone Season-4 of another brilliant HBO series ‘Succession’, which currently holds 97% RT score and 92% Metacritic score. Although the latter is behind Barry by a small margin. It would now be interesting to see how ‘Barry Season-4’ critics’ ratings increase or decrease in the coming days compared to ‘Succession Season-4’.
The dark comedy crime series ‘Barry’ features Bill Hader as a former Marine turned disillusioned hitman who finds solace in the Los Angeles theatre arts scene. However, he can’t seem to get rid of his dark and violent past. The eight-episode ‘Barry Season-4’ will conclude in the month of May 2023.
