The Coronavirus outbreak has led to the postponement of the highly anticipated HBO drama, the Nicole Kidman starrer ‘The Undoing’. The series was to premiere on HBO on 10th May, but delays owing to the Coronavirus shutdown meant that the series wouldn’t be able to keep its date with the platform.
HBO has therefore postponed the series to a Fall release. To fill in the void that would be created as a result of the postponement, the streaming platform is pushing back by two weeks, another awaited much-awaited series — the Mark Ruffalo starrer, ‘I Know This Much is True’. The original premiere date for Ruffalo’s six-part limited series was 27th April, which will now happen on 10th May.
The series is based on Wally Lamb’s bestselling book and is written, directed and executive produced by Derek Cianfrance. Mark Ruffalo is also one of the executive producers of the series, which follows the lives of a pair of identical twin brothers, Dominick and Thomas Birdsey, both played by Ruffalo, in an epic drama of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness, set in 20th century America.
The Undoing, stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant as Grace and Jonathan Fraser, a privileged Manhattan couple whose life is turned upside down by a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations thereafter.
Grace’s husband disappears, leaving her to pick up the pieces of a spreading and very public disaster, as she struggles to rebuild her life, and her young child’s. The six-part limited series is Kidman’s second with David E. Kelley, writer and Executive Producer of her hit show, ‘Big Little Lies’.
Both The Undoing and I Know This Much Is True are slated to stream on Disney+ Hotstar Premium in India.
