Heartbreak High is the re-imagination of the superhit 90s drama from Australia called Heartbreak High itself. Interestingly, the original Australian series and its 7 seasons are also streaming on Netflix.
Regardless, the new characters are not so new because they are highly related to numerous coming of age series that you have watched on Netflix.
The problems are the typical Netflix problems of finding sexuality, dealing with heartbreaks, and so on. We have seen them in Sex Education, Never Have I Ever, Ginny And Georgia, and Teenage Bounty Hunter.
The very need of recreating the show is absurd because it doesn’t excite us as an audience.
