Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s upcoming period drama for Netflix is finally shaping up. A few days back, we heard that it could reunite Bhansali and Madhuri Dixit after almost 20 years, which is yet to be confirmed but we have also learnt that Huma Qureshi is the first actress to be confirmed for Bhansali’s next.
Now, earlier today we have also learnt that Sonakshi Sinha has also confirmed to join the cast of Heera Mandi, the story of which deals with the hidden culture of the red light area in the walled city of Lahore. It focuses on the women who live there and for whom sex is a job.
This will be Sonakshi’s second collaboration with SLB Films after 2012 action film Rowdy Rathore. Also, she has to go through vigorous training for Kathak dance as it would be an integral part of the film.
Also as per the earlier reports, Filmmaker Vibhu Puri is also onboard with Heera Mandi and already started working on the preproduction of the film and will soon finalise the rest of the cast members.
Bhansali on the other side has just completed the production of Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi which is based on the story of the Madam of Kamathipura. Sonakshi too, is busy with Bhuj: The Pride of India and once done with it, she will rope herself into the production of Netflix’s Heera Mandi.
