Helen Hindi Remake Starring Jhanvi Kapoor Gets Release Date?

It was earlier announced that Boney Kapoor had acquired the remake rights of the Malayalam hit film ‘Helen‘ for his daughter Janhvi Kapoor. Now, it seems the film has locked its release date as well.

As per reports in media, Boney Kapoor has locked November 4 as the release for ‘Mili’. The movie is being directed by Mathukutty Xavier, who also directed the original Malayalam film. The movie’s screenplay is written by Ritesh Shah who is known for writing hits like Kahani and Pink. A female-led film with the scope for Janhvi to flex her acting muscles, the film can change the course of her career if done well.

The original film ‘Helen’ starred ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ fame Anna Ben and was a successful venture at the box office. Produced by popular actor Vineeth Sreenivasan, the film follows the story of a worker at a fast food shop who got stuck inside the freezer room of the shop. With no one aware of her entrapment, how she is saved by her loved ones and how she manages to stay alive in the -18 degree celsius freezer room until she can be rescued makes up the story. The movie was a well-made thriller and Anna Ben and Lal, who plays her father, gave noteworthy performances. At the National Film Awards, the film won Best Debut Film of a Director for Mathukutty and Best Make-up Artist for Ranjith Ambady.

If the reports are true, ‘Mili’ is set to release alongside Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Phone Bhoot‘ also starring Ishaan Khattar and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Janhvi debuted with Ishaan in ‘Dhadak’ and it will be interesting to see the two films clashing on Nov 4. Also co-starring alongside Janhvi are Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa, who are probably playing her boyfriend and father respectively. Jhanvi was last seen in ‘Good Luck Jerry’ the remake of another South film. She was recently officially announced as the female lead in Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff starrer ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’.
