Locke and Key is one of the most watched series from Netflix this year. It is a mix of fantasy and supernatural horror drama. The show premiered on Netflix in February 2020 and garnered praise from critics and audience alike, with majority of praise were regarding the cast and the storyline. Makers of the show right away announced the season 2 which excited the fans who were wondering for it. But their excitement came crashing down when restrictions in shooting were announced due to Covid-19. This made the fans tensed about the future of the show for few months. But now good news for all of them! As Season 2 of Locke and Key is now officially in production.
The show is based on the comic-book series of the same name by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.
Recently, The official Instagram page for the show Locke and Key posted an update on season 2. They posted a collage of the lease actors who were posing with the virtual script that they have got. This means that the cast was going through the read of the show meaning that the shooting will go on floors soon enough. In the picture we can see the four leads in the form of Emilia Jones, Connor Jessup, Jackson Robert Scott and Darby Stanchfield posing for a picture.
The show’s second season will begin from where it ended in season one. *SPOILERS AHEAD* – Season one ended on a happy note for the Locke family as they battled the Well Lady and seemingly defeated her by sending her through the portal. But it was revealed at the episode end that she had been with them the whole time in the form of Gabe. She used the Identity Key to change the appearance of Ellie into Dodge ( herself ). Now she is in the same world as the Lockes who think the danger has departed but are unaware of the fact that it is still very close to them in the form of Gabe whom Kinsey is dating and Eden who has been possessed too.
The other cast members who will return for season 2 are Laysla De Oliveria as the Well Lady with Petrice Jones, Griffin Gluck, Bill Heck, Aaron Ashmore, Sherri Saum, Thomas Mitchell Barnet, Kevin Alves, Genevieve Kang and others.
The show has started production and thus we might be able to see the season 2 around mid 2021. Since the first season had 10 episodes one might wonder and think that season 2 will also have same number of episodes. All the episodes are streaming on Netflix!
