Here’s All That Marvel’s Bringing To Disney+!

At the ongoing San Diego Comic Con Marvel has unveiled an exciting list of its upcoming projects slated to release this year and the next. Fans also got to have a first look at what’s coming up from Marvel Studios’ Animation.

Here’s the complete line up of new series announced by Marvel:

‘I Am Groot’

Written, directed and produced by Kirsten Lepore, ‘I Am Groot’ follows Baby Groot who takes center stage in his very own collection of shorts, exploring his glory days growing up—and getting into trouble—among the stars. ‘I Am Groot’ will consist of five original shorts featuring several new and unusual characters and stars everyone’s favorite little tree, Baby Groot, voiced by Vin Diesel, who voices Groot in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise.

Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and James Gunn serve as the executive producers for the show set to launch exclusively on Disney+ August 10, 2022.

‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’

Slated for release in 2024 exclusively on Disney+, ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’ is an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.

Jeff Trammell, writer and executive producer of ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’ teased the show with the cast of characters while fans also got a look at the new Spider-Man suit designed for the series. What’s more exciting was that Marvel also announced a sequel season, aptly titled ‘Spider-Man: Sophomore Year’.

‘What If…?’

Director Bryan Andrews and writer AC Bradley unveiled the trailer of the Emmy nominated series ‘What If…?’ that continues the journey with The Watcher as our guide through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU. The animated series questions, revisits, and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles. Both Andrews and Bradley also serve as the show’s executive producers.

Season two of ‘What If…?’ launches exclusively on Disney+ in early 2023. Moreover, fans were surprised with the screening one episode of the highly anticipated next season alongwith the announcement of a third season.

‘Marvel Zombies’

‘Marvel Zombies’ is a new animated series from Marvel Studios that reimagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge. Bryan Andrews serves as the director and also executive produced the series alongside writer Zeb Wells.

Set to stream exclusively on Disney+, the release date for ‘Marvel Zombies’ is yet to be announced.

‘X-Men ‘97’

Scheduled for exclusive Fall 2023 release on Disney+, ‘X-Men ‘97’ is an animated series from Marvel Studios that explores new stories in the iconic ’90s timeline of the original series. During the comic con, head writer and executive Beau DeMayo talked about the new series, shared artwork, and also presented an animatic AV piece. He shared that the new series will use the original “X-Men” theme music and also that there will be a second season.
