The diwali week is here and so are the festivities. We wait for these holidays the entire year and so does the entertainment industry. Every year around diwali we see some big movies releasing in theatres but this time COVID-19 has changed quite a lot and so many have opted for an OTT release. This second week of November also takes us closer to Christmas that is another major holiday time for families.
The major highlights of this week surely has to be multi-starrer ‘Ludo’, season 4 of ‘The Crown’ and ‘Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey’ among others. Let’s see what we have for this week on Netflix India from 9th November to 15th November, 2020.
Monday (9th November) –
Undercover (2019) (Season 2) –
A Netflix crime drama where in this new season Kim will hunt for an illegal arms dealer but that will put Bob into a dangerous new undercover operation.
Tuesday (10th November) –
Dash & Lily (2020) (Season 1) –
A teen rom-com Netflix series where cynical Dash & happy go lucky Lily exchange dares, dreams and desires through a red notebook that they pass back and forth around New York City.
A Lion In The House (2006) (Limited Series) –
A documentary that spans the journey of five kids and their resilient families over six years, as they traverse through the treatment and trauma of pediatric cancer.
Blade Runner 2049 (2017) –
A sci-fi thriller by Denis Villeneuve follows Officer K, a Los Angeles Police Department’s Blade Runner who gets hold of a secret that could cause chaos and goes on a search to find a former Blade Runner who has been missing for three decades.
Supa Strikas (2012) (Seasons Coming) –
A kids animation series about a soccer team, Supa Strikas, that must apply new tactics against their super rivals who have unstoppable weapons.
The Night Clerk (2020) –
A crime mystery that follows a voyeuristic hotel clerk who is on the autism spectrum and becomes a prime suspect when a guest gets killed during his shift. His connection with a new charming guest makes him try to stop the killer from making her, his next target.
The Nokdu Flower (2019) (Season 1) –
A period Korean drama set in the 19th century Joseon, where a peasant revolution for equality is brewing. It revolves around two brothers who are fighting for their beliefs on the opposite sides of the conflict.
Trash Truck (2020) (Season 1) –
An animated series that follows six years old Hank and his best friend, a giant trash truck, on their adventure-filled journey with their animal friends.
Wednesday (11th November) –
The Liberator (2020) (Season 1) –
An adult animation series by Netflix set in the times of World War II that is based on true events. It follows the story of army officer Felix Sparks and his diverse and brave unit, nicknamed ‘Thunderbirds’ as they become heroes.
What We Wanted (2020) –
A Netflix drama with focus on issues of marriage and parenthood. It’s the story of a married couple who is facing fertility issues. Their marriage is put to test while on a vacation to a Sardinian resort, with the family next door adding to the tension.
A Queen Is Born (2020) (Season 1) –
A feel-good makeover show where Gloria Groove and Alexia Twister help six artists gain confidence and fulfill their drag dreams.
Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House Of Fun (2020) (Season 1) –
Comedy trio Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane through their sketches, songs and eclectic characters takes the viewers on a fun ride.
Trial 4 (2020) (Limited Series) –
A true crime investigative docuseries that presents the story of Sean K. Ellis who was charged with the murder of a Boston cop in 1993 while he was a teen. He is fighting to prove his innocence and simultaneously trying to expose police corruption and systemic racism.
Masameer Classics (2013) (Season 3) –
An adult animation series that uses dark comedy and eccentric characters to offer a humorous view of the changes and cultural shifts taking place in Saudi Arabia from 2011-2019.
Thursday (12th November) –
Ludo (2020) –
Ludo is a multi-starrer dark comedy anthology film by Anurag Basu where four different stories overlap at the whims of fate, chance and one eccentric criminal.
Ethos (2020) (Season 1) –
A Turkish Netflix series that follows a group of individuals in Istanbul who transcend sociocultural boundaries and find connection as their fears, wishes and beliefs intersect.
First Love (2018) –
A Filipino romance drama where Nick, a reserved businessman meets Ali, an impulsive vibrant photographer who challenges him to live life in the moment before it’s too late. But Ali suffers from a grave heart condition.
Graceful Friends (2020) (Season 1) –
A suspense filled K-drama that chronicles the story of a group of friends who have known each other for a long time. But a murder changes their lives and marriages, unraveling deep dark secrets.
A Very Special Love (2008) –
A Filipino romantic comedy where Laida, a young woman is excited to be working for her longtime crush Miguel “Miggy” Montenegro. Though she soon realizes that he isn’t what she had thought.
Friday (13th November) –
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020) –
Netflix’s first live action musical original is the story of an embattled toymaker (Forest Whitaker) and his precious granddaughter (Madelen Mills), who together constructed a magical invention, that if they can’t get to work in time for the holidays, could change their lives forever.
The Life Ahead (2020) –
Based on Romain Gary’s book ‘The Life Before Us’, this Netflix film is about an aging Holocaust survivor who takes in a young immigrant from Senegal after he robs her. These two develop a unique bond over time.
The Minions Of Midas (2020) (Limited Series) –
A six part Netflix series that is based on Jack London’s short story but set in contemporary Madrid. It follows Victor, a rich businessman, who is blackmailed in a strange way by a mysterious organization and his decision can mean life or death.
Fukrey Boyz: Space Mein Fukrapanti (2020) –
A fun Indian kids animated film where three friends try save the human intelligence form being stolen by aliens from Earth.
Sunday (15th November) –
The Crown (2020) (Season 4) –
One of the most popular series on Netflix is coming with its fourth season which is set in the 1980s when Queen Elizabeth and UK’s PM Margaret Thatcher come face to face. Also, this new season will introduce Lady Diana Spencer as she gets married to Prince Charles.
Alter Me (2020) –
A Filipino romantic film that follows a HR manager who seeks a coveted escort’s help to better connect with people and her emotions. An unlikely romance starts to develop between the two.
