Netflix India instagram page wrote, “Pehla consignment toh mil hi gaya hoga. Hum doosra bhej rahe hai, #Cargo se. Coming on 9th September only on Netflix.” This pun by Netflix is something unusual but it definitely looks like it’s trying to catch up with the enthusiasm people have for Amazon Prime‘s Mirzapur S2 that also includes Shweta and Vikrant in pivotal roles.
Cargo is a 2019 science fiction horror film written and directed by Arati Kadav and has been produced by Kadav, Shlok Sharma, Navin Shetty and Anurag Kashyap. The film initially premiered at the 2019 MAMI Film Festival and was meant for theatrical release but given the indefinite closing of cinemas, makers have now decided to release it on Netflix.
Cargo follows the story of a demon Prahastha, on board a spaceship Pushpak 634A, who works for the Post Death Transition services, where dead people are recycled for birth. He is helped in this by a female astronaut.
We are loving this refreshingly smart move by Netflix India’s social media team to announce a film premiere like this and can’t help it but say “Noice!”.
